Designing with web fonts

Your favourite typefaces from the best font services

We believe good fonts are worth paying for. But we also think it should be easy to experiment with typefaces you haven’t worked with before.

Typecast includes fonts from the web’s best font providers: Typekit, Fontdeck, Fonts.com and Google Fonts. You can design with their fonts even if you don’t have an account with the service. Just sign up and pay for the fonts you use before adding them to your site.

During our public beta, you’ll have access to a curated selection of beautiful typefaces like Myriad Pro, VAG Rounded and Neue Helvetica. We’ll add more fonts based on your feedback and requests.

Finesse and control over typography

Typecast offers the control of hand-coding without the complexity. You can design by eye, adjusting properties like line-height and letter-spacing visually. It’s simple to try different font combinations, achieve great vertical rhythm and develop a beautiful colour palette.

You can see live changes to your design without getting your hands dirty with code or having to refresh your browser.

Avoid confusion with an effortless type specimen

Design is a collaborative process.  We want the effort you invest in your design to pay dividends by helping you share it with the rest of your team.  As well as valid HTML & CSS freshly baked and ready to go, Typecast generates a helpful style guide that documents the fonts, colours and styles created in your design.

You can share a tangible record of your typographic choices, show progress and see the completeness of your design – handy for working with a developer or a client presentation.

Get involved

Great web apps are never finished. Typecast is still very much a work in progress, so we’d love to get your feedback on our ideas.

We’ll be launching our public beta in early November. Any feedback you can offer will make Typecast a better and more useful tool.

Until then, you can catch us on Twitter or comment below to tell us what you think.
